J'ai cru comprendre que les berlines sportives n'étaient pas éligibles chez VDA.
Pourtant, celle ci dans un rassemblement ferait son petit (gros) effet !

De la DB9, l'Aston Martin Rapide en reprend le châssis à empattement allongé et renforcé, tout en arborant une face avant inspirée de la DBS. Notons que ses portes s'ouvrent en "aile de cygne" et remontent pour faciliter l'accès à bord. Elle est animée par un V12 de 470 ch et 600 Nm, couplé à une boîte automatique à six rapports avec des palettes en magnésium derrière le volant. Elle affiche 303 km/h en vitesse de pointe et demande 5,3 s dans l'exercice du 0 à 100 km/h. Son gabarit imposant se traduit par une longueur de 5,01 m, une largeur de 2,14 m mais une hauteur de seulement 1,36 m. Le coffre offre finalement une capacité de 301 litres. L'habitacle combine luxe et équipements de haute technologie, entre aluminium, sièges individuels très enveloppants et système audio BeoSound de 1000 watts !

Sa V8 Vantage est magnifique dans sa livrée noire et son intérieur fauve ... jusqu'au détail des piqures dans le cuir assorties de très bon goût.

J'ai été totalement bluffé par le caractère sportif de cette V8 Vantage. Un vrai kart dans les virages, des accélérations qui vous collent au siège, des freinages qui stoppent la voiture en quelques secondes avec une stabilité déconcertante ... quel moment de plaisir avec un pilote qui maîtrise totalement le sujet.

L'Aston Martin V12 Vanquish n'est pas vraiment une auto faite pour se promener à une allure raisonnable dans la campagne anglaise. Elle peut le faire grâce à sa belle polyvalence, mais elle est bien plus à l'aise lorsqu'il s'agit de sortir la grosse attaque.
Sous son capot un V12 dérivé de celui de la DB7 Vantage annonçant une puissance de 460 chevaux transmise via une boite de vitesses manuelle. Les performances restent impressionnantes, et distillées avec une certaine grâce, en raison d'une très belle musicalité s'échappant des sorties d'échappement.
Stable et efficace, elle souffre toutefois d'une légère surcharge nuisant à son agilité dans le serré, mais au profit d'un équipement pléthorique et d'une ambiance cosy très anglo-saxonne.
